Louise Herrington Endowed Chair in Mental Health


Position Description

The Louise Herrington School of Nursing (LHSON) at Baylor University invites applications for the Louise Herrington Endowed Chair in Mental Health Nursing position. The qualified candidate must be a nationally recognized nurse with either a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), or a Doctor of Education (EdD) degree with well-established research and/or scholarship program in the broad category of mental health, have a strong record of significant extramural funding and publications, and show commitment to education and mentorship. The Herrington Endowed Chair is a senior-level faculty position and must have strong leadership and mentoring experience and a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and teaching excellence. The candidate is expected to work collaboratively with researchers at LHSON and other researchers in

various schools/colleges of Baylor University, such as Social Work, Education, Psychology, and Health and Human Sciences. The Endowed Chair will be a complementary position with the newly established Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner track, which started in August 2023. The successful candidate will be officing in the Academic Building of the Louise Herrington School of Nursing at 333 N. Washington Ave., Dallas, Texas.

Assistant Professor, Tenure Track, Nursing


Position Description

The Louise Herrington School of Nursing (LHSON) seeks two (2) tenure-track faculty to contribute to our expanding research portfolio. Candidates should be devoted to excellence in research, teaching, mentoring students and junior faculty, and service.

Associate Professor, Tenure or Tenure Track, Nursing


Position Description

The Louise Herrington School of Nursing (LHSON) is seeking applications for a nurse researcher to contribute to our expanding research portfolio with an established research program, a strong external funding record, and a sustained record of publications in peer-reviewed journals. Candidates should also demonstrate and be devoted to excellence in teaching, mentoring students and junior faculty, and service.


PhD in Nursing or related field is required.
