Sadie Anderson, MSN-FNP, RN

Immediate Past President of the National Alaska Native American Indian Nurse Association (NANAINA) Board Member of the National Coalition of Ethnic Minority Nurse Associations (NCEMNA)


Sadie Anderson is an enrolled member of the Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians in Wisconsin. She moved to Alaska as a child and traveled with her parents to many Alaska Native villages across the state, where she developed a deep love for Alaska and its people.


She began her nursing career after earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Alaska Anchorage in 2006. She went on to complete her Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2016 and earned a graduate certificate in Alaska Native Executive Leadership from Alaska Pacific University in 2018.


Sadie has worked at the Alaska Native Medical Center (ANMC) for 18 years. For 12 of those years, she served as the Nursing Director of the Medical-Surgical departments before transitioning to her current role as Director of Nursing Strategic Planning and Innovation. In this role, she leads initiatives that enhance nursing practice, workforce engagement, and patient care.


Her passion lies in mentoring and empowering nursing staff, coaching them to grow as leaders, supporting their career advancement, and inspiring them to elevate the quality and cultural responsiveness of the care they provide to patients.
